About the role
This is a full-time position located in Port Macquarie, NSW. As the Communications & Engagement Specialist, you will play a vital role in driving internal communications and engagement initiatives at Lifeline Mid Coast, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing crisis support and suicide prevention/postvention services to the local community.
You’ll take the lead in campaign development, social media, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and event promotion. If you're a passionate storyteller, an organised operator, and driven by purpose—this role is for you.
What you'll be doing
Create and manage local marketing campaigns aligned with national strategy.
Lead social media, email marketing, and content creation.
Write and distribute media releases; manage media relationships.
Coordinate awareness and fundraising events (e.g. Walk Out of the Shadows).
Support trauma-informed messaging and suicide prevention/postvention initiatives.
Track results, gather insights, and optimise performance.
What we're looking for
Minimum: Cert IV in Marketing & Communication.
Experience in social media management, email marketing tools, and content creation.
Strong writing skills—especially for media releases and community-focused copy.
Previous exposure to NFP, health, community, or trauma-informed spaces is a major plus.
Digital marketing experience.
Ability to develop campaign strategies and manage the coordination and execution end to end.
Design skills, with proficiency in Canva and ideally the Adobe Creative Suite.
