About the Role

This advertisement is placed on behalf of our client, a well-established restaurant in Cowes, who is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join their professional kitchen team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for food, creativity, and the ability to deliver high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes in line with the menu and quality standards.

Oversee food presentation, garnishing, and consistency of service.

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.

Develop and test new recipes, incorporating innovation and seasonal produce.

Cater to special dietary requirements.

Monitor kitchen operations, regulate cooking equipment, and maintain stock control.

Assist with menu planning and food cost estimation.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment.

Skills & Experience

AQF Associate Degree, Certificate III/IV, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery).

Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience as a Chef.

Proficiency in cooking methods and use of commercial kitchen equipment.

Knowledge of classical European and English culinary traditions (or willingness to learn).

Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Flexibility to work full-time across a rotating roster.
