Talent International is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join an International Mining company in Eight Mile Plains on a permanent role with strong long-term growth opportunities.

The role:
Join the R&D Lab of a leading International Mining company within their Safety product line. In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain innovative software solutions connecting cloud services, web & mobile applications, and wearable technology. Focusing on microservices, distributed systems, and cross-platform development, you'll help deliver world-class safety and productivity solutions to the global mining industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain features across cloud, web, mobile, and wearable platforms
• Optimise backend performance, scalability, and reliability
• Contribute to software architecture, design patterns, DevOps practices, and CI/CD automation
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and solution architects in Agile ceremonies
• Mentor team members, support knowledge sharing, and drive continuous improvement in engineering standards

Essential Experience:

• 3+ years of Python-based software development
• Experience building cloud-based microservices, ideally within the AWS ecosystem
• Proven ability to take ownership of the design and delivery of moderately complex software applications or components
• Skilled at collaborating within a development team to achieve software outcomes
• Experience maintaining and enhancing existing software ecosystems
• Familiarity with DevOps and SecOps practices and their impact on software design
• Experience working in an Agile development team

Desirable:

• Experience with high availability software deployments (scaling, capacity, upgradeability)
• Exposure to mobile app development (Xamarin, .NET MAUI, or similar)
• Understanding of Systems Engineering principles
• Experience mentoring junior developers
