Summary of Position

Join AMCS as a key driver of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. Working across all levels of the organisation, you’ll coordinate audits, update policies, monitor compliance, and support teams to deliver service excellence. This hands-on role requires strong influencing skills, systems thinking, and a collaborative approach to embed quality practices and ensure alignment with legislative and funding requirements.

Management and Accountability

Direct accountability is to the Chief Financial Officer and GM – Business Enablement.

Key Responsibilities

Embedding Quality Culture and Continuous Improvement

Champion and actively support a culture that values continuous quality improvement, working with AMCS leadership and staff to embed this across the organisation.

Liaise with managers and team leaders to embed CQI practices into AMCS teams, offering guidance and support.

Share information about quality improvements, change initiatives, and compliance updates using engaging communication and training methods.

Provide practical advice, informal training, and day-to-day support to staff and volunteers on matters relating to quality, compliance, improvement and risk.

Provide expertise to AMCS leadership in order to support the strategic direction of the organisation’s Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement efforts.

Systems, Frameworks and Policy Coordination

Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System, ensuring it incorporates relevant quality indicators, improvement initiatives, and compliance.

Maintain and regularly update AMCS’s organisation wide annual compliance calendar.

Support the implementation and coordination of the Risk Management Framework in partnership with the management team.

Support the establishment and maintenance of systems, policies and procedures that contribute to business continuity and knowledge protection.

Provide quality and compliance expertise into organisational policies and procedures development and iterations

Monitoring, Auditing and Reporting

Execute the internal quality audit program including file reviews, spot checks, feedback reviews, and gap analyses.

Prepare audit and gap analysis reports with recommendations to support quality improvement and compliance.

Manage and enhance systems for collecting, monitoring and reporting on quality-related incidents, complaints and stakeholder feedback.

Prepare and provide timely reports to support the work of the Board’s Clinical Governance Subcommittee.

Legislative and Contractual Compliance

Monitor AMCS compliance with legislative and funding obligations through a structured monitoring and review process.

Proactively monitor and interpret changes to legislation, regulations and sector guidelines relating to quality and sector compliance, and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure these are translated into clear, timely updates and practical actions for the AMCS team

Assist in the development and use of tools to identify, assess and prioritise risks relevant to service quality and operations.

Collaborate with the management team to ensure the Quality Management System remains aligned with statutory requirements.

Evaluate feedback and service delivery insights and work with teams to support improvement strategies aligned with external standards and expectations

Professional Development

Participate in staff development opportunities as planned and required.

Attend meetings and In-Service training when appropriate.

Occupational Health & Safety

Comply with policies & procedures, identify OHS concerns and communicate these to AMCS management.

Report hazards and incidents.

Legislative Requirements

Ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislative requirements such as Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), the Aged Care Act including the Aged Care Quality Standards, and the Commonwealth Privacy Act.

Other

Familiarise self with relevant policies, procedures and work practices of AMCS.

Meet employee obligations as outlined in AMCS’s Policies and Procedures.

Commit to process of continuous improvement activities.

Carry out other duties as delegated by the person you report to or the next person in the organisational structure.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience in Aged Care, Health or NDIS sector, with strong expertise in Quality, Risk, and Compliance management

Demonstrated success in leading organisations and teams through audits and accreditation processes within the aged care, health or NDIS sectors.

Skilled in utilising and maintaining digital quality management platforms to support compliance and continuous improvement.

Experience driving Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives from issue identification and root cause/risk analysis to improvement design, policy and procedure development, implementation, and evaluation.

Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, including the Aged Care Act and Aged Care Quality Standards.
