Locum Senior Social Worker - Cancer Care

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Social Worker to join a dedicated Cancer Care Support Team on a 8 week locum contract (with possible extension). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a multidisciplinary setting and is committed to delivering high-level clinical care to patients, families, and carers.

About the Role

• Provide advanced clinical social work services to patients undergoing cancer treatment and their families, supporting them through complex emotional, social, and practical challenges.
• Deliver leadership, professional supervision, and mentoring to developing clinicians, allied health assistants, and students.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and research initiatives within the team.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, offering high-level advice and integrating the social work perspective into patient care.

What We're Looking For

• A recognised degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in social work practice, ideally with experience in cancer care or another specialty clinical area- no new graduates
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage a complex caseload with a high level of independence and accountability.
• Current driver's licence and relevant vaccinations as per health guidelines.
