At Piccolo ELC we believe in nurturing young minds through healthy and delicious meals. You will have the opportunity to create nutritious meals that fuel the creativity and growth of our little learners.

Minimum 1 year experience in a Cook position in an Early Childhood Service.

Qualification required:

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent

Certificate in Safe Food Handling

Certificate in Menu Planning (desirable)

Certificate in Nutrition (desirable)

Valid Working with Children Check clearance (WWCC)

Up-to-date knowledge of the following Regulations and Acts:

Service Policies and Procedures

Education and Care Services National Law (2010)

Education and Care Services National Regulation (2011)

Work Health and Safety Act 2009

Food Standards Australia & New Zealand Code (FSANZ)

Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) (2014)

Fair Work Act 2009

Other relevant state and federal legislation and regulations as required

You will :

Provide a healthy, balanced, varied diet through a carefully planned menu for all children attending the Service, including meeting necessary dietary requirements.

Manage food purchasing for the service in accordance with the approved budget and finances.

Coordinate and maintain the Food Safety Guidelines required by Regulatory Authorities.

Coordinate minor catering on special events at service i.e., Mother's Day, Father’s Day, and Christmas.

Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff, and management.

Manage meals and dietary requirements and allergies.

Job Types: Full time OR Part time

Hours: 7.30 am - 3 .30pm (negotiable)

Work Days: If full time, Monday to Friday. If Part time, days are negotiable, but Wednesday's would not be required. Minimum of 3 days per week.
