Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (SNP) is seeking a skilled Blood Bank Coordinator to oversee our Blood Bank operations at our Laboratory at the Wesley Private Hospital, Auchenflower, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, quality, and service. This is a key role within our laboratory, offering the opportunity to make a direct impact in a specialised and rewarding area of pathology.

Key Responsibilities

Perform a range of routine and advanced blood bank tests.

Train and mentor local staff in line with corporate training policies.

Liaise with clients and clinicians to ensure optimal case management.

Oversee blood fridges , freezers and platelet rockers across the Wesley campus

Uphold laboratory quality standards, including:

Updating documents and procedures

Troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions

Driving quality improvements

Comply with occupational health and safety policies to ensure the wellbeing of yourself and others.

Provide reliable, efficient customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and embed SNP/Sonic values into daily operations.

What we are looking for

Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification.

Proven experience in a blood bank laboratory

Strong leadership and team development skills.

Ability to work primarily Monday–Friday (8:00 am – 4:00 pm) with flexibility for other shifts between 0600 – 2200

Willingness to participate in the public holiday roster, or weekends as required.

In-depth knowledge of blood bank procedures and standards.

Confidence in leading day-to-day operations of a specialist service.

Strong communication skills to build effective relationships with external clients and internal teams.

Commitment to delivering high-quality, timely, and accurate results.

A proactive approach to problem-solving, quality improvement, and staff guidance.

NOTE: Remuneration will be based on relevant industrial experience
