Catering Staff – Proserpine Nursing Home

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with meal preparation and plating, ensuring meals meet dietary requirements and resident preferences.

Work closely with the Catering Manager to follow detailed preparation instructions for food.

Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

Support the delivery of meals to residents in a timely and respectful manner.

Help with stock control and inventory management.

Communicate effectively with kitchen and care staff to meet residents' needs.

Ensure kitchen equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored.

Stay up to date with relevant training on food handling, storage, and safety procedures to ensure the highest standards are met.

Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a catering, kitchen, or food service role is preferred but not essential.

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

A friendly, approachable, and caring attitude towards the elderly.

Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Ability to work well within a team and independently.

Must have or be willing to obtain a Level 1 Food Safety Certificate.
