About the role

At Packweigh, we design and manufacture high performance weighing, bagging, and automation solutions used by producers and processors across Australia. We’re known for quality, service, and reliability.

We’re on the lookout for a mechanically skilled, motivated Service Technician to help us transform our Service Department from reactive to proactive — shifting from emergency breakdowns to scheduled, preventative maintenance that keeps our customers operating at peak efficiency.

What You'll Do:

Schedule and carry out service appointments with customers across Australia.

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Packweigh machinery.

Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical and work with our electricians on electrical faults on-site.

Work independently in the field, representing Packweigh with professionalism.

Build trust with customers by providing reliable, expert support.

Help shape a growing service department that focuses on prevention, not reaction.

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar technical role.

Strong mechanical aptitude — experience with industrial equipment is a must.

Willingness to travel frequently and work away from home.

Ability to work independently without supervision.

Good communication skills and customer service mindset.

Proactive attitude — someone who sees what needs doing and takes initiative.

A desire to grow within the business and be part of a bigger service transformation.

Full Australian working rights and a valid driver’s license.

Restricted electrical licence, construction white card and/or forklift ticket are desirable but not necessary.
