About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance Team. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food production equipment through proactive maintenance, repairs, and servicing. This role involves collaborating with production teams, addressing equipment issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Lead, you will initially commence on the Day Shift for onboarding and training and then move onto a two-week rotation of days (0600-1430) and afternoons (1400-2200)

Key Responsibilities

Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and facility systems

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Serve as the point of contact for breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime

Maintain maintenance records and utilise online systems

Support new machinery installation and maintenance team activities

Adhere to safety and hygiene standards, ensuring a clean work environment

Qualifications and Skills

Recognized mechanical Trade Qualifications is essential

Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing or food processing environment (preferred)

Strong diagnostic / trouble-shooting experience gained in a FMCG Environment.

Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Familiar with CMMS (MEX highly regarded) and MS office tools.

Ability to read Engineering drawings.

Welding skills (Advantageous but not essential)

Forklift licence - desirable.

Team player.
