Tenure: Full Time/ Part Time, Permanent
Salary Range: $86,600 to $124,725 per annum pending experience (pro rata if part time)
Closing Date: Monday, 1 September 2025 unless filled prior
As TCE’s newest school and Townsville’s first Catholic co-educational secondary college, Mary Help of Christians Catholic College opened in 2025 with five Year 7 classes. In 2026, we will expand to include Year 8, growing to a 7-12 community of over 800 students by 2030. About the role
Mary Help of Christians Catholic College, Shaw is seeking dedicated and experienced teachers to join our foundation staff for the commencement of the 2026 school year. Multiple permanent full-time and part-time positions are available.
Successful applicants will possess the qualifications and/or ability to teach in at least one of the following learning areas in conjunction with any other learning area.
Religious Education
English
Mathematics
Science
Humanities
Design and Technologies (any specialisation)
The Arts - Media Arts/Drama
The Principal also welcomes applications from experienced upper primary teachers who desire a transition to teaching in the secondary context, as well as early career teachers who are seeking a supportive and nurturing environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Appropriate Tertiary qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers
Current Driver’s Licence
Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
