Bayview Heights Community Kindergarten (BHCK) has been Affiliated with C&K since 1976. We are seeking a part time early childhood teacher for our Group B class that operates every Thursday and Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 3.45 p.m. during Qld school term times. Role commences on 19th January 2026.

As our respected Group B Teacher at BHCK, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our “Exceeding” rated kindergarten continues to implement a dynamic play-based learning environment that values children’s right to play in nature and supports their social and emotional development, recognising families as a child’s lifelong teacher and the importance of partnership.

You will be part of a strong collaborative team culture where everyone can belong, grow and thrive. You will be well supported with two experienced assistant educators working alongside you during class time as we believe a higher educator to child ratio builds relationship and is vital in achieving high learning outcomes. Our long-term Teacher/Director will also be available to support you in her roles as Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor and Group A Teacher.

Hours worked per week are 18.75.

Annual leave of 4 weeks taken over the Christmas school holiday period.

All other school holiday breaks will see no contact time required. The applicant can work flexibly during school holiday breaks as duties require, including the ability to work from home.

Funded Blue Card and Police Check.

What you’ll be doing:

• Planning and implementing a kindergarten learning program for 22 children using the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG).

• Documenting and assessing learning and meeting with families to share child progress.

• Working with support professionals for students as needs arise.

• Developing and implementing Medical Management Plans for students as needs arise.

• Developing and implementing Education Support Plans for students as needs arise.

• Completing Continua of Learning documents for each child’s mid-year progress.

• Completing Transition Statements for each child at the end of the year.

What you’ll bring:

• A Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).

• Teacher Registration (or be eligible for registration).

• Valid Blue Card and current Police Check (or willingness to undertake).

• First Aid Qualifications (or willingness to undertake).

• Experience in early childhood teaching using the EYLF and QKLG.

• A heart to support all children to learn through play.

• Impeccable attention to detail and a love for getting things right.

• Excellent organisation and communication abilities.

• A collaborative spirit with the confidence to contribute ideas and listen respectfully with all stakeholders.

Preferred but not essential:

• Experience in a similar kindergarten teaching role.

• Knowledge of and/or experience working with C&K.

• Nature pedagogy experience or interest in learning.

• Experience using Storypark to document learning.

• Experience using Kidsoft software.

C&K is a child-safe organisation and all C&K employees are required to undergo a police check and not be a ‘Restricted Person’ or Suspended Educator under the QLD Blue Card System.
