What you'll be doing

Facilitate partnerships between services/streams to improve service delivery and coordination.

  • A Level 3 Senior Clinician has a recognized specialty within social work and operates primarily at a regional or rural level.

  • A Level 4 Senior Clinician in social work has specialized expertise, offers consultancy services across wider areas, and plays a significant role in advising on service development and education
  • The primary purpose of the Clinical Coordinator - Adult Survivors Program is to provide advanced clinical, strategic, educational and programmatic expertise and leadership in the establishment and implementation of NSW Health’s new Adult Survivors Program – a specialist integrated program for adult survivors of child sexual abuse with complex needs.
  • Lead the establishment of local clinical networks and relationships
  • Establish and maintain effective networks with relevant clinical streams, clinicians, and services within the LHD.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Social Work qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) and demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning
  • Demonstrated extensive post graduate clinical experience in providing counselling, groupwork, parenting and case management interventions to clients where child protection, violence, neglect and trauma incidents have occurred.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
  • Proven ability to provide high level clinical advice and education to enhance service delivery including demonstrated capacity to provide clinical supervision around violence abuse and neglect issues, in addition to a demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, work in partnership with key stakeholders and to apply independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a complex nature.
  • Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction in an environment of organisational complexity, to establish a new, innovative service in line with NSW Health’s organisational values and goals.

About Far West NSW Local Health District

Broken Hill, NSW, Australia

Bordering three states, Far West Local Health District (LHD) covers 194,949 square kilometres in remote NSW. The LHD is sparsely populated, with 62% of its approximately 30,000 inhabitants living in the Silver City of Broken Hill. The remainder of the population live in agricultural towns along the Murray River, in small remote communities of 80-800 people or on stations throughout the LHD. Far West LHD is the most sparsely populated LHD in NSW and has the highest proportion of Aboriginal residents (9.6%). The population is decreasing, ageing and experiencing significant morbidity related to lifestyle factors and chronic illness.
