The Team:
Alcohol and Drug Services provides opioid pharmacotherapy, inpatient detoxification from alcohol and other drugs, counselling, smoking cessation, and detoxification in the home services to the Tasmanian community. The Pharmacy team provide clinical pharmacy services to each of our teams across the state, with a focus on opioid pharmacotherapy provision.

- Focus on alcohol and drug pharmacotherapies, including daily medication dosing and inpatient withdrawal medication management
- Pharmacy opens every day including weekends and public holidays
The Role:
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team aimed at optimising patient outcomes by providing a specialist pharmacy service to the Pharmacotherapy and the Inpatient Withdrawal Unit of the Alcohol and Drug Service and other centres as required.

You will need to:
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in the clinical area and act as a resource pharmacist for the particular area of speciality.
- Work within Alcohol and Drug policies for the provision of services to the Pharmacotherapy and the Inpatient Withdrawal Unit and dispense and dose for Pharmacotherapy patients on a daily basis.
- Dispense medications for patients being discharged from the Inpatient Withdrawal Units. Provide information and education to staff and clients on Consumer Medication Information.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Location:
Hobart, Tasmania
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- A market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is applicable to this role

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia or completion of an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.
- Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
- For pre-registration (intern) pharmacists: Eligible for provisional registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
