The Department of Health is seeking qualified Clinical Nurse Specialists for CYMHS Youth Mental Health (529953d) in the North of Tasmania.

Please note the positions are also being advertised as Allied Health Professionals (529953) in the North and these positions will be filled on merit.

We are seeking Clinical Nurse Specialists with experience in complex case management, assessment, counselling and/or therapy, and within mental health or relevant/related sector would be ideal. You would be working within a well-supported, innovative, diverse multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment with young people, and their families.

Our Aim:

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in Tasmania is growing! We are seeking passionate and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialists to provide clinical services to young people and their families/significant others experiencing mental health concerns. The positions available are within our new teams which are currently being developed as initiatives under the CYMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care).

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach and working within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Being part of a dynamic and well supported team committed to delivering high quality mental health services to young people, and their families/carers.

The Role:

Undertaking clinical services through the provision of complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs

Working alongside innovative team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new youth mental health services in Tasmania.

Working with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.

Applicants who have undertaken training in relevant and appropriate evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are developmentally appropriate such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) would be highly regarded.

Details of appointment:

Two permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 - $112,440 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type.

Benefits available to eligible candidates:

  • Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Working with Children Registration

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
