About the Opportunity

HYPAR Residential Care is an innovative and growing support service, specialising in providing residential care for young people who have complex needs and challenging behaviour.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Care Team Leader is responsible for the coordination of the day to day care and development of the young people within their assigned houses in accordance with the young people’s case management and care plans. They also provide practical support and mentoring to the Lead Mentors in their assigned houses. Our offices are located in Narangba and Mansfield and our residential properties are located across the Greater Brisbane region.

Key Responsibilities

Foster a culture and philosophy of frontline service delivery, collaboration, cooperation, and commitment to excellence and professional ethics which ensures the team continues to meet HYPAR’s values.

Support the Lead Mentors in the day to day running of each assigned house in respect to good care of the young people, household duties, property and grounds maintenance and staff deployment including cleaning, shopping and meal preparation.

Ensure weekly presence at all assigned houses, accurately managing their administration, young people and employees’ responsibilities.

Oversee the case management for all young people in their houses, creating and supporting a therapeutic social environment within the house.

Be involved in Model of Care meetings and Placement Matching Meetings to assess suitability of new referrals.

Engage in Stakeholder meetings, supporting Lead Mentors as required.

Provide administrative support to Lead Mentors on their non-working days to ensure that the residentials operate smoothly.

Oversee the debriefing of employees following critical incidents – ensuring the learnings from the incident are identified and/or identify any further training required.

Use Key Performance Indicators to identify areas that require attention and create strategies to address these areas.

Qualifications and Experience

Degree qualification in industry relevant area preferable, however candidates with Diploma qualifications and significant industry experience will also be considered.

Previous experience in Residential Care highly regarded.

Previous experience in supervisory/management position highly regarded.

TCI training highly desirable.

High level of organisational skills with ability to juggle competing demands and meet firm deadlines.

High level of computer skills with the ability to learn new programs and processes quickly.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Blue Card or ability to obtain.

Disability Worker Screening (Formerly Yellow Card) or ability to obtain.

Traffic History Check (10 years).

First Aid and CPR.

Current open Queensland driver’s licence.

LCS2 (Child Safety Check) or willing to obtain.

No rostering requirements for this role as their is a Rostering Officer for our residential programs
