The Team:

Allied Health Services provides Allied Health clinical services across ten Allied Health disciplines, and supports all Allied Health professionals across Hospitals South. Led by the Executive Director of Allied Health, the team work with nursing, medical and support services colleagues to deliver excellence in healthcare and improve health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

This Allied Health Lead role connects Allied Health Services with the Surgical and Perioperative Services clinical stream. The Allied Health Lead provides a point of communication and coordination for Allied Health staff working in the stream and engages with the Surgical & Perioperative stream leadership to support an interdisciplinary approach to care. The role works to ensure that Allied Health are integrated in stream decision making, drives innovation and improvement across Allied Health and the clinical stream, and works with other Allied Health Leads to connect clinical streams.

You will need:

  • Extensive clinical practice expertise in an acute, community or rehabilitation hospital setting, with substantial demonstrated experience and knowledge of relevant clinical services and contemporary models of Allied Health in tertiary hospital settings
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership across Allied Health staff working in clinical streams, and to effectively engage with stream and organisational leaders
  • Evidence of a thorough knowledge of the priorities and governance structures of Hospitals South, Allied Health Services and the clinical streams, and understanding of the external and internal drivers for change in the organisation

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Allowances:

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
