About Us

Brand’s Pharmacy Services operates a network of private pharmacies across QLD, NSW, and WA, employing over 130 staff across community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, wholesale supply, and compounding/manufacturing.

Our Mackay pharmacy provides comprehensive inpatient and clinical pharmacy services to the Mater Mackay Hospital — a 105-bed facility with medical, surgical, maternity, and high-dependency wards, as well as theatre and emergency departments.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Hospital Pharmacist to take a full-time role at our pharmacy, providing services to Mater Hospital Mackay.

You’ll work closely with an on-site pharmacist and lead a team of pharmacy technicians, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred clinical pharmacy services. You’ll also be instrumental in identifying and implementing service improvements as the hospital expands.

This role is ideal for a hospital pharmacist seeking more responsibility or an experienced community pharmacist ready to move into hospital practice.

Your Responsibilities

Deliver clinical ward rounds and routine chart reviews

Perform medication reconciliation for all new admissions

Conduct medication reviews for high-risk and complex patients

Coordinate inpatient medicine supply, discharge counselling, and medication summaries

Supervise, mentor, and roster pharmacy technicians

Deliver education sessions to patients, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams

Maintain compliance with all legislative, clinical, and safety requirements

Skills & Experience

Pharmacy degree, AHPRA registration, and professional indemnity insurance

Strong clinical knowledge and patient-care focus

Excellent communication skills with ability to build rapport across the hospital team

High level of accuracy, organisation, and time management

Previous hospital pharmacist or clinical pharmacist experience is highly desirable — but not essential for the right candidate
