QTMEC is an industry leading Electrical & Civil based in Karragullen, Western Australia with projects spread throughout the Perth Metropolitan Area.

We carry out works on some of the largest civil projects including Traffic Signals, Street lighting, ITS installation and modifications, and electrical works

With significant growth in the business, we require experienced operators to assist our work crews, previous experience in the civil / construction industry excavation around services is a must.

We are NOT looking for an operator who sits on the machine all day and doesn't help the crew.

To be considered for the role, you will meet the following requirements:

Current and valid Driver's License and your own reliable transport. (mandatory)

Current MR Truck license Min (mandatory)

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Construction Induction (White) Card.

Have and able to produce a SOA (statement of Attainment) from an RTO

Ability to follow safe work procedures and adhere to site requirements.

Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test.

Physically fit, motivated, and possess a strong work ethic.

Basic knowledge of hand tools, small equipment, and manual tasks related to civil construction work, an advantage.

Carry out Pre-starts on machinery and equipment and report damage or problems.

Reading and understanding Dial Before You Dig information.

Reading, understanding and adhering to dig permits when working on complex civil construction sites.

Operating machinery to a high standard of safety

Experience excavating around live services

Experience in installing electrical/communication conduit and pits

Cable laying.

A "Can do attitude"

Able to understand instructions and follow as directed.

Able to work unsupervised.

Reporting to your Supervisor or Team leader you will undertake various duties including above, but not limited to:

Civil Team Excavator Operator

Contribute and be part of Pre-start meeting/Toolboxes including Safety documents SWMS, JSA etc.

Installing electrical and communications conduits and pits.

Carry out Potholing before starting Excavation.

Using different attachments.

Use of excavator from 1.5ton to 4ton

Hauling electrical cable and communications cable.

Using compactors and hand tools.

Installing footings and standing poles

Concreting.

General tasks such as sweeping, digging, and site clean-up
