The Role
We are seeking a skilled and solutions-focused Database & Systems Administrator to join our ICT team.
Reporting to the ICT Manager, you will work closely with administration and academic teams to ensure the integrity, reliability, and efficiency of our core databases—Synergetic (SIS) and Compass (LMS)—as well as other integrated systems.
Your work will directly support the College’s operations, data-driven decision making, and compliance requirements. From programming and automation to report development and technical support, you will play a critical role in enabling our staff to deliver outstanding outcomes for students.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse user needs and develop innovative solutions, including scripts, user forms, and automated workflows
Manage and maintain SQL databases, ensuring data accuracy and system reliability
Design and deliver insightful reports using Power BI, Crystal Reports, and SSRS.
Automate processes using Python scripts and MS Power Automate
Oversee data imports/exports, rollovers, and government reporting requirements
Provide technical support and training to staff, ensuring systems are used effectively and securely
Support Active Directory/Azure AD administration, including access controls and security measures
To succeed in this role, you will have:
A relevant Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent qualification
Strong programming skills (C++, JavaScript, Python) and high-level T-SQL expertise
Experience managing Synergetic in a school environment (minimum two years)
Proficiency with Crystal Reports or SSRS, PowerShell scripting, and Power BI
The ability to analyse and present data clearly, with exceptional attention to detail
Strong organisational and communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
Experience with Compass is desirable but not essential
