About the role:
Maxima’s valued client in Largs Bay in seeking a temporary EHS and Process Support Engineer. Paying $40 - $42/hr casual + Super, this role is full time hours, Monday to Friday. Expected to begin as a 6 month initial engagement period, this role could extend to 12 months.
This role will collaborate closely with production and support teams, as well as external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement and regulatory compliance, whilst ensuring optimal process performance and supporting ERP transactional requirements.
Key responsibilities of the Environment Health & Safety and Process Engineer, include:
- Support implementation of EHS standards and programs to ensure a safe, secure and compliant workplace
- Monitor compliance with statutory, regulatory and company requirements regarding health, safety, and environment
- Conduct field observations and safety interventions
- Supporting production team in reporting EHS related metrics and incidents, as well as providing maintenance and technical support
- Assist with contractor safety management
- Participate in improvement projects as needed
- Coordinate and support technical queries related to process and/or formulations
- Monitor and analyse process performance indicators
- Coordinate technical improvements targeting safety, ergonomics, environmental protections and cost reduction
- Support and provide back up to team members in relation to ERP transactions
About you:
- Previous experience in a similar role (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineer, or a related discipline
- Understanding of EHS regulations and practices
- Professional certification in in safety, process safety or environmental management (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of ERP SAP system (required)
- Outstanding communication skills
- Proactive, organised, independent thinker
