Xavier College is seeking a dynamic and experienced educational leader to take on the role of Assistant Head of Campus – Primary at our Two Wells (R-10) campus. This key leadership position, classified as a POR4 for a fixed period of four-years and is available to commence as soon as possible, or by January 2026 at the latest.
This role may include a teaching component and should be considered in conjunction with the Teacher Position Information Document.
The Assistant Head of Campus – Primary will be responsible for leading across all aspects of the Primary Years (R-6), with a focus on educational leadership, promoting a nurturing environment and the planning and execution of campus events. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a thriving and supportive community.
As the Assistant Head of Campus – Primary you will:
Develop a dynamic, rigorous, innovative and engaging curriculum across the Primary Years students
Develop of all learning areas in the Primary School with a contemporary Catholic understanding
Contribute to and manage the Primary timetable
Lead the development and implementation of authentic assessment
Create an environment where all students grow to be confident learners embracing the values of the Gospels and our Salesian story
Ensure the Primary Oratory is a thriving place of support and connection and aligns with Oratory in the secondary school
Support students experiencing difficulties or seeking counselling services, ensuring all matters are managed with compassion, understanding and empathy
Manage students of concern relating to issues such as attendance, lateness, serious or frequent uniform breaches, behavioural, social/emotional or academic concerns (or other)
Work collaboratively with Campus leaders, class teachers and parents/guardians to assist with the identification and diagnosis of children with special needs
Organise and oversee Primary school activities and student enrichment opportunities

About You
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Head of Campus with a strong track record of leadership in creating nurturing and inclusive environments that support the Catholic ethos of the College. You will bring an understanding of primary years pedagogy and curriculum, paired with an organised, strategic and forward thinking approach.
As a supportive leader, you will mentor colleagues and work closely to drive positive student outcomes. Success in this role will require exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to proactively support student wellbeing through restorative practices and behaviour management.
