My client is a rapidly growing financial services business with a national presence and a headcount of over 120 people across multiple states. The business is led by an entrepreneurial founder and a hands-on leadership team, with ambitious growth targets and a reputation for delivering outstanding client outcomes.

The company has enjoyed significant expansion in recent years and is now looking for a commercially astute CFO to lead their finance function, formalise processes, and partner with the leadership team to support continued growth.

The Opportunity
This is a newly available created role and offers the chance to make a genuine impact. You'll work closely with the CEO to implement scalable financial processes, embed strong controls, and provide the strategic insight needed to achieve aggressive growth targets. The environment is fast paced, less structured, and ideal for someone who thrives on solving problems and improving systems in a scaling business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the full spectrum of financial management, including:
• Statutory and management reporting
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Tax compliance (BAS, IAS, FBT, payroll tax, income tax)
• Payroll operations
• Regulatory and governance obligations
• Deliver timely, accurate and commercially focused financial insights, including:
• Translating complex financial data into clear and actionable recommendations
• Supporting strategic decision-making and business planning
• Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to drive growth and profitability
• Introduce scalable processes and implement automation initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks and enhance accuracy
• Manage and mentor a small, high-performing finance team
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors

About You

• CA/CPA qualified with at least 10+ years' experience in accounting and finance function, with exposure to SME organisations
• Strong background in financial services and complex environments is highly desirable
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to challenge entrenched habits and drive change
• High emotional intelligence, with the ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly
• Hands-on and commercially minded, comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting
• Social and approachable, able to integrate into a dynamic and vibrant environment
