WestCoast Plant Hire Pty Ltd is a family-owned and operated company supplying high-quality plant and skilled operators to the mining and construction sectors. Due to continual company growth, we are seeking MC Side-tipper Truck Drivers (Doubles) with side tipper experience to join our team in Paraburdoo WA, on an ongoing casual basis.

Please note: these positions are all FIFO on a 1-1 Roster - PERMANENT NIGHT SHIFT ONLY (site requirements). No other roster is available.

Duties and Responsibilities

Transport and delivery of materials in a safe and timely manner (as directed)

Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle as per the site, road safety rules and regulations

Keep the company truck clean and ensure it is well-maintained, has fuel, oil and is road compliant

Conduct pre-starts on trucks and complete digital paperwork daily

Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues, and perform preventative maintenance (including greasing)

Hook/unhook trailers and dollies when necessary

Change tyres when required

Keep accurate records of deliveries and pickups, ensure dockets are completed accurately and send to the office for authorisation

Complete all paperwork to the company and client standards

Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck to prevent damage/injury

Follow all OH&S regulations and further the safety culture by ensuring strict adherence to road rules and transport legislation

Drive safely and follow all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following the instructions provided

Adhering to strict fatigue and safety procedures

Communicate with the office by phone to update them on issues or concerns relating to the day’s run

Treat client and site staff with respect and ensure you provide outstanding customer service

Essential criteria

Unlimited Australian Work Rights (no sponsorship will be offered)

MC Driving License with minimum 3 Years’ experience in truck driving (Open class)

Minimum 2 years of experience in driving Road Trains in WA - double side tippers

Previous Experience in Bulk Haulage and side tipper driving is a must

Ability to pass pre-employment medical and D&A

Online Fatigue Certificate (no more than 2 years old)

OHS Construction Induction Card (White Card)

ASIC card or the ability to obtain one

Well-presented and excellent communication skills

Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards, Main Road Heavy vehicle legislation and permitting standards

Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution

Ability to work well within a small team environment

Excellent initiative and problem-solving skills, together with interpersonal skills.

Drivers with various construction site inductions, an ASIC card and a current Pre-Employment medical will be highly regarded.
