About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Agricultural and Agritech Technician to support our field operations. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in horticultural science and modern farming technologies, with a strong interest in vegetable crop production.
Key Responsibilities
· Analyse soil, topography and environmental conditions to identify nutrient deficiencies and determine optimal crop rotation strategies.
· Apply advanced horticultural knowledge specifically to Asian vegetable varieties, including tailored fertilisation, irrigation, and pest control strategies.
· Identify and control pests, weeds and crop diseases using integrated pest management methods.
· Operate and maintain farm technologies including soil sensors, weather monitoring, and irrigation systems.
· Provide technical support in planting, harvesting, and post-harvest handling to preserve freshness and shelf life of delicate Asian greens.
· Assist in controlled breeding and propagation of specialty crops to improve quality and yield.
· Collect and analyse data to monitor growth cycles, yield, and pest impact, and prepare technical reports for management.
· Implement precision agriculture tools such as GPS-guided tractors and automated chemical input systems.
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and biosecurity standards on-site.
· Work closely with the farm director and local workforce to train and supervise daily crop care activities.
Key Requirements
· A relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or Agritech.
· Minimum 2 years of hands-on farming experience, preferably in Asian vegetable production.
· Strong understanding of plant pathology, soil science, and integrated crop management systems.
· Ability to identify the growing needs and challenges specific to Chinese and Southeast Asian leafy vegetables.
· Technological literacy in modern farm equipment, monitoring systems, or farm management software.
· Excellent record-keeping and data analysis skills.
· Physically fit and comfortable working in outdoor field conditions.
· Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is highly preferred due to team and customer demographics.
