Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with TGA, GMP, and HACCP requirements. This role oversees all aspects of quality assurance, from material release to final product approval, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS in accordance with HACCP, TGA, and GMP standards.

Lead internal and external audits, including TGA inspections and customer audits.

Oversee the release of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.

Prepare, review, and maintain GMP documentation, including SOPs, batch manufacturing records (BMRs), deviation reports, and CAPAs.

Ensure all products meet specifications and regulatory requirements prior to release.

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the QA team, including document control, product release, and compliance monitoring.

Train, mentor, and support QA staff in GMP compliance, SOPs, and best practice quality principles.

Promote a culture of quality awareness across all departments through regular communication and training.

Monitor compliance with TGA and other applicable regulatory standards for complementary medicines.

Lead investigations and root cause analyses for non-conformances, deviations, and complaints.

Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all QA activities.

Review and approve change controls, risk assessments, and validation documents.

Maintain control of master documentation, document revisions, and archival systems.

Conduct final review and QA approval of batch records before product release.

Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs to support smooth product development and release.

Manage product recalls and complaint investigations in conjunction with relevant teams.

Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

Work closely with Production, QC, Warehouse, and Regulatory teams to resolve quality issues.

Participate in new product development and technology transfer from a quality perspective.

Possess thorough knowledge of the TGA product listing process, including preparation and submission of applications, compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintenance of listed product records.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Quality Management, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a QA management role within a TGA-listed, GMP-compliant manufacturing environment.

In-depth knowledge of TGA, GMP, and HACCP standards.

Proven experience in managing audits and inspections.
