Port Augusta Technical College: Shaping the Future of Technical Education in South Australia
Port Augusta Technical College will be a visionary institution that aims to revolutionise technical education in South Australia. The State Government is investing in Technical Colleges that will set the standard for excellence in their design, learning environment and delivery of skills-based training for school-enrolled students.
Co-located with Port Augusta Secondary School, Port Augusta Technical College will have a part time attendance model for secondary school students within the region to access whilst maintaining their enrolment in their current school.
Port Augusta Technical College will have accommodation facilities on site and offer four industry training programs for careers in civil, resources and infrastructure, health and social support, hospitality and tourism, and multi-trades (for careers such as plumbers, builders, electricians, and boilermakers).
We are searching for an exceptional Youth Worker to join our dynamic team and make a positive impact on our students.

What Will You Do?
Support wellbeing and safety of students in both the college and accommodation facility
Develop and implement student support plans in collaboration with enrolled students
Work as part of Industry Specialisation Teams with a focus on wellbeing, coaching and support services
Collaborate with schools, staff, families, and external providers to support student success
What You Will Need:
Demonstrated ability to select and apply effective communication skills both orally and in writing, including conflict resolution skills that are effective with a diverse range of groups and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to work with young people, their teachers and parents/carers, to improve their participation, engagement and achievement in their industry pathway.
Demonstrated experience in providing a quality student support service for young people who experience mental health, learning, wellbeing or social barriers to their education to improve their participation, engagement and achievement in schooling.
