About the Company
Our client is a large scientific business that has had made recent inroads to commercialising their product. With rapid expansion and continued success, they have a newly created role for a Financial Accountant to be accountable of the technical accounting and reporting.

With a mandate to raise the reporting to an audited level you will work closely with the Head of Reporting & external consultants to build a Tier 1 reporting framework.

About the Role
As a Financial Accountant, you will support a very proactive and experienced Head of Reporting to rebuild and enhance existing monthly reports, take charge of disclosures, internal controls and other statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare technical accounting position papers on complex topics, including financial instruments under IFRS 7 and IFRS 9

Own the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with AASB, IFRS, and grant reporting requirements

Assist with board-level reports and collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and external advisors

Analyse and interpret accounting standards, advising on new requirements and their impact on financial reporting

Review complex reconciliations, journals, and support the month-end close process with a high level of accuracy

Assist with regulatory reporting obligations, liaising with internal/external auditors and supporting audit readiness

Drive process improvements, knowledge sharing, and mentor junior staff members.

About You:

You will be CA/ CPA qualified, have had experience in a Big 4/ Mid-Tier firm, good understanding of complex accounting standards and have proven stakeholder engagement skills. Experience using NetSuite highly regarded.
