As the new Policy Adviser, you’ll spearhead the development of forward-thinking economic policies that drive innovation and impact across AAA’s core focus areas.
The AAA plays a critical role in shaping national transport policy, representing millions of motorists through its network of member clubs. With a strong track record in influencing reforms around affordability, safety, sustainability, and innovation, AAA is a trusted voice in public policy circles. In this role, you’ll contribute directly to high-impact policy development, helping to craft solutions that improve everyday mobility and deliver tangible benefits to communities across Australia.
The role:
You will play a pivotal role in shaping AAA’s policy agenda by applying rigorous economic analysis to ensure that transport reforms are efficient, equitable, and future-ready. Your ability to see the strategic landscape impacting the AAA, through an informed economic lens, will add a key strength to a highly collaborative team of passionate professionals who are aligned and motivated to deliver their part to sure up the delivery of safer roads, fairer pricing and more sustainable mobility for all Australians. .
You’ll take the lead in shaping impactful public policy by driving high-value research initiatives, forging strong alliances with clubs, government, and industry partners, advising the AAA Board with strategic insight, aligning national advocacy with member club priorities, and championing AAA’s policy agenda through influential stakeholder engagement. You do this with a high level of accountability, all while upholding the highest standards of governance, risk management, and organisational integrity.
So, who are you?
From a technical perspective, you have a Degree in economics, business, transport planning, law, or a related field. You bring proven experience in economic policy – preferably within government, parliament, or a policy/advocacy organisation.
You are confident in bringing forth your ideas and suggestions, and you have excellent stakeholder engagement and networking skills. You are regarded for your exceptional communication and report-writing abilities as well as your strong analytical and political judgment. You are passionate about a job well done and work hard to achieve yours and the organisations goals.
