About the Role:
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and proactive Assistant Director (2IC) to join our team at Whiz Kidz Brookfield! This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role within a large, thriving centre. You’ll work closely with the Centre Director to support daily operations and lead a team of 35–40 dedicated educators.

This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in a busy childcare environment, and who is confident with administration, compliance, and Xplor.

As 2IC, you’ll play a hands-on leadership role, with responsibilities including:

Leading by example on the floor—supporting educators with programming, routines, and quality practice

Managing day-to-day operations alongside the Director to ensure the centre runs smoothly and efficiently

Creating and managing staff rosters, and supporting team wellbeing

Supporting compliance requirements including documentation, audits, staff qualifications, and health & safety obligations

Using Xplor to ensure all records, attendance, and communications are up to date and accurate

Liaising with families and supporting effective communication across the service

Stepping confidently into the Nominated Supervisor role when the Director is away

What We’re Looking For:

Diploma qualification (or higher) in Early Childhood Education

Strong leadership skills, a calm and organised approach, and experience in a large centres

Proven capability in admin tasks, compliance duties, and Xplor (highly regarded)

Prior leadership experience, or a strong desire to develop leadership skills

Excellent time management, communication, and organisational skills

Solid working knowledge of the Child Safe Standards, mandatory reporting, NQS, VEYLF, and the Children’s Services Regulations

A current WWCC, First Aid, CPR, and Asthma/Anaphylaxis training
