As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be able to utilise your Behavioural Science/Psychology/Social Work/Therapist background to assist participants and their support network to improve their quality of life.

Job Description

As a Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be empowered to provide quality and specialist behaviour support through assessments, observation and analysis, and the provision of support services and assistance in the development and evaluation of behaviour support and intervention programs for children, young people and adults with disability. This role will involve the following:

Conduct Functional Behavioural Assessments using a range of appropriate assessments

Develop Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans

Liaise and consult with clients, hospital and community staff, carers/family members, relevant agencies and government departments as appropriate

Provide direct behavioural interventions in group and individual settings

Use behavioural, psychological and evidence-based theories to develop and implement strategies and interventions

Build and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders

Adhere to NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission requirements

Identify, report, and document the use of restrictive practices

Prepare customer records, including timely and effective file notes, support plans, reports and other correspondence

Complete incident reports and any other mandatory reports as and when required.

Skills and Experience

Must be a current Core or Proficient Behaviours Support Practitioner.

At least 2 years of experience as a practitioner.

Must hold a tertiary qualification in Education, Behavioural Science, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or an associated clinical field.

Must hold a current NDIS registration to practice as a Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner in accordance with the NDIS Capability Framework.

You must also hold:

NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)

Current Driver's License
