Senior Project Manager - Sydney Water Projects (up to $50M)

The Company

CGC Recruitment is partnering with a global Tier 1 contractor with a strong foothold in the utilities and water infrastructure sector. With a reputation built over 50+ years, they are one of Australia's most respected civil contractors, known for delivering complex infrastructure projects nationwide.
Due to the recent award of major Sydney Water projects in the $10M-$50M range, they are seeking a Senior Project Manager with deep experience in water infrastructure to lead project delivery across metro Sydney.

The Role

You will lead the end-to-end delivery of Sydney Water infrastructure works—managing design, stakeholder engagement, subcontractors, budgets, and on-site execution. The projects involve pipeline installation, pump stations, civil structures, and utility relocations.
This is a critical leadership role that combines site presence with commercial oversight and strategic input.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Sydney Water projects from pre-contracts through to handover
• Oversee design development, procurement, subcontractor management, and cost reporting
• Ensure full compliance with Sydney Water specifications and safety standards
• Manage and mentor a team including Engineers, CAs, and Supervisors
• Maintain strong relationships with Sydney Water and key stakeholders
• Identify and mitigate project risks early in the delivery process

About You

• 10+ years' experience in civil construction, including recent experience as Senior PM
• Proven track record delivering water/utilities projects up to $50M
• Strong understanding of Sydney Water specs and delivery processes
• Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil contractors
• Excellent stakeholder and team management skills
• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred)
