Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS5 Project Officer to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in Newcastle/ Gosford / Wollongong. The position is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The role pays $55.24/hr + Super.

7.5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week

Support the NSW/ACT Regional Services Division by coordinating governance processes and delivering high-quality communication outputs. Working under limited supervision, the role involves stakeholder engagement, documentation, and reporting to support strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate governance frameworks and ensure policy compliance
• Develop and review communication materials (reports, newsletters, briefs)
• Engage with stakeholders and support project reporting
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Criteria:

• Proven experience in governance and communications
• Strong judgment, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and guide junior team members
• Clear understanding of governance's role in service delivery
• Effective communication across diverse audiences

Desirable:

• Qualifications in communications or public administration
• Knowledge of government protocols and APS standards
