Currently, they are seeking a Heavy-Duty Mobile Plant Fitter to join their maintenance team on a 1-week-on, 1-week-off rotating roster, based in Burnie, Tasmania.

This role is ideally suited for candidates with a solid knowledge of mobile plant/diesel mechanic/hydraulic/electrical backgrounds, particularly those with experience in maintenance and repair within the Underground and Surface mining areas. The right candidate for this opportunity must be willing to relocate to Burnie, TAS, and/or the surrounding areas.

Requirements:

Carrying out workshop component rebuilds and boom inspections.

Services and repair maintenance on varies surface and underground drills rigs.

Carrying out all task with the highest safety standards and to OEM specifications.

Competent with the ability to read and interpret fundamental hydraulic and electrical schematics.

Diagnostic & troubleshooting with scan tools/ CANBUS / electronic rig control system to identify engine fault codes.

Comply and adhere to Company SOP ( Safety Operation procedures) such as Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Take 5s.

Fault find and solve complex hydraulic, pneumatic and LV electrical on various underground drills rigs (e.g twin boomer M2D/ Simba L6C,MT65/MT45, MT6020 ) and Epiroc face jumbos drills and surface drill rigs such as Epiroc / Sandvik DK65 and Roc L8s

You are required to hold a trade certification in Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Certificate III in Electrical Technology, or possess relevant trade experience from a a related field in heavy commercial automotive or agricultural and/or construction plant(Cat, Hitachi, Komatsu) machinery. You should have demonstrated problem-solving skills, along with a collaborative approach to teamwork. Your capabilities should include exceptional mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities, fault-finding expertise, and troubleshooting proficiency. You should also be proficient in reading and interpreting hydraulic and low-voltage electrical schematics. Strong communication skills are essential, as they enable you to cultivate long-term customer relationships.
