The Company
We've partnered with a world-class global chemical manufacturer, headquartered in Mulgrave, to find a Supply Chain Controller who can blend strategic thinking with operational execution. Reporting to the Supply Chain Lead, this critical role requires a detail-driven, analytical supply chain professional who can manage complexity, drive continual improvement, and improve performance across the entire supply chain network.
The Role
This is a hands-on, end-to-end supply chain role, ideal for someone who thrives on big-picture strategy but also knows how to roll up their sleeves and dig into the detail. You'll work closely with internal teams and external partners to optimise processes, monitor performance, resolve issues, and improve how the business moves product from port to warehouse to customer.
Role Responsibilities
- Own and improve the full supply chain cycle: order, transport, warehousing, and outbound delivery.
- Develop and maintain efficient processes for managing large SKU ranges, stock movements, and performance tracking.
- Conduct and lead governance meetings with key stakeholders to review operational performance.
- Lead and document process improvements with SOPs and manuals that support business efficiency and compliance.
- Investigate and manage non-conformance events, resolve issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with logistics providers, warehouses, and internal teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and service level performance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through smarter stock movement and process refinement.
- Take the lead in system integrations (e.g., EDI) and support transitions to new transport or warehouse providers.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, you'll bring a mix of analytical precision and operational know-how. You may have previously worked in demand planning, logistics, or inventory control, and are confident with governance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- 10+ years' experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations, ideally in manufacturing or distribution environments.
- Highly logical and analytical mindset - confident working with large data sets and drawing actionable insights.
- Strong strategic thinking capability - continuously looking for smarter, better ways of doing things.
- Previous experience in end-to-end product flow - from import and storage through to final delivery.
- Excellent communicator - able to lead meetings, build cross-functional relationships, and drive accountability.
- Experience working with large SKU volumes, and able to manage complexity through clear, scalable processes. Experience using JD Edwards is an advantage.
- Comfortable being hands-on and responsive in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment.
