The Opportunity
We are seeking a leader to become the Manager Legislative Services within our Legal, Commercial and Assurance Services Directorate within People and Corporate Services.

This role is responsible for providing complex legislative advice to the Department, leading the development of innovative new legislation and associated strategies. The Manager also plays a key role in stakeholder relationship management.

A key focus of the work is high level negotiations and provisions of services to a diverse range of stakeholders, including Ministers, industry advocacy groups and a range of internal and external stakeholders, to deliver a program of complex legislation through the Parliamentary process, effectively leading and motivating a high performing legislative services team, and supporting, mentoring and developing graduates.

You will be provided with autonomy and genuine flexibility within a dynamic Directorate, which is focused on providing innovative solutions and customer-centred services.

Qualifications/Experience
Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience is desirable.

Special Conditions

A National Police Check is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

Attendance may be required on Public Holidays and over the Christmas New Year period.

Attendance at Parliament to assist the passage of legislation may be required.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
