Job Description

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary environmental team, ensuring delivery of high-quality work on time and within budget
• Drive business development by identifying new opportunities, preparing tenders, and maintaining strong industry networks
• Oversee the commercial performance of projects and client accounts, ensuring profitability and long-term sustainability
• Coordinate and complete complex environmental assessments, field surveys, and detailed reports
• Negotiate with clients to refine project scope, budgets, and timelines, ensuring alignment with objectives
• Provide strategic technical input into large-scale and complex projects
• Mentor, coach, and develop team members to enhance capability and performance
• Represent the consultancy at conferences, seminars, and networking events
• Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, internal quality systems, and safety procedures
• Develop and implement business plans in collaboration with senior leadership

Skills & Experience Required

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline (required)
• Around 10 years’ relevant industry experience, including proven leadership in a senior environmental role (required)
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams, including recruitment, performance management, and career development (required)
• Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of managing budgets, project profitability, and business growth (required)
• High-level knowledge of environmental processes, standards, and regulatory requirements (required)
• Proven business development skills and experience preparing tenders and winning new work (required)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of clear, detailed reports (required)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making abilities (required)
• Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional organisation (desirable)
