Job Description
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary environmental team, ensuring delivery of high-quality work on time and within budget
- Drive business development by identifying new opportunities, preparing tenders, and maintaining strong industry networks
- Oversee the commercial performance of projects and client accounts, ensuring profitability and long-term sustainability
- Coordinate and complete complex environmental assessments, field surveys, and detailed reports
- Negotiate with clients to refine project scope, budgets, and timelines, ensuring alignment with objectives
- Provide strategic technical input into large-scale and complex projects
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members to enhance capability and performance
- Represent the consultancy at conferences, seminars, and networking events
- Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, internal quality systems, and safety procedures
- Develop and implement business plans in collaboration with senior leadership
Skills & Experience Required
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline (required)
- Around 10 years’ relevant industry experience, including proven leadership in a senior environmental role (required)
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, including recruitment, performance management, and career development (required)
- Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of managing budgets, project profitability, and business growth (required)
- High-level knowledge of environmental processes, standards, and regulatory requirements (required)
- Proven business development skills and experience preparing tenders and winning new work (required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of clear, detailed reports (required)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making abilities (required)
- Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional organisation (desirable)
