About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and personable Building Plan Approval Coordinator to join a busy, high-performing Sydney Water projects team.

This is a coordination-focused role where you’ll support the full approval process for residential and commercial building projects across Sydney.

You'll act as the vital link between clients, contractors, internal departments, and Sydney Water, helping to manage everything from booking site inspections to submitting final documentation.

While experience in this process is not required, you’ll receive full training, making this a fantastic entry point into the engineering, building, or construction sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing project documentation and coordinating site inspections
• Liaising with builders and clients on Sydney Water asset clearance requirements
• Preparing and submitting Service Protection Reports (AutoCAD training provided)
• Collecting and submitting documentation via Sydney Water’s online portal
• Providing daily project and administrative support to the wider team

About The Candidate

Ideally You Will Have

This role would suit someone with strong coordination or admin experience, a desire to learn, and a genuine interest in building and infrastructure.

Professional experience gained as an Undergraduate Engineer or professional experience through Internships will be highly regarded.

You’ll bring:

• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Strong time management and attention to detail
• Experience juggling multiple tasks or projects
• Confidence using MS Office and general computer systems
• A collaborative, positive, and professional approach

It’s a bonus if you have (but not essential):

• Experience using AutoCAD
• Exposure to construction, surveying, or planning environments
• Understanding of Sydney Water processes (or an interest to learn)
