Our Homebase Youth Services (HYS) program works closely with young people and families. We’re looking for a passionate Youth Worker to join our team, with a strong focus on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people—particularly those facing disadvantage.

What You’ll Be Doing
Building genuine, respectful relationships with young people and their families
Providing case management, advocacy and referrals where needed
Fostering debate about Indigenous issues, particularly positive strategies and solutions
Supporting young people to access services, resources, and opportunities
Promoting our services within the community and building partnerships with stakeholders
Keeping accurate case notes and records
Attending meetings and events to better understand and respond to community needs
Positively representing HYS and upholding our values: authentic, fair, kind, brave, sustainable
About You
Certificate IV (or higher) in Community Services, Youth Work, or related field
At least 3 years’ experience in case management or youth work, particularly supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Strong communication and cultural awareness skills
Ability to plan, deliver and promote youth-focused programs
Organised and confident in record keeping and using computer systems
Understanding of Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting responsibilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Commitment to cultural safety and empowering young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Current NSW Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and Driver’s Licence
It’s a Bonus if You Also Have
Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (or willingness to gain)
Experience working in community or youth services
Experience in drug and alcohol referral or counselling
Desire to keep learning and growing professionally
