Turf and Irrigation Technician

What You’ll Be Doing
In this hands-on role, your day-to-day will include:

Design, install, and maintain turf and irrigation systems for residential, commercial, and public projects

· Monitor soil health, water usage, and turf condition to ensure optimal growth

Installing, servicing and maintaining irrigation systems, including sprinklers, solenoids, and pipework, in line with industry best practices.

Conduct routine inspections and repairs of irrigation equipment

Provide expert advice on turf varieties, watering schedules, and eco-friendly solutions

Interacting professionally with members of the community while out in the field.

Maintaining tools, vehicles, and equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.

Assisting with general maintenance tasks as needed.

Completing accurate and timely records, both digital and manual.

Collaborating with the wider team to meet service goals and deliver quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have:
Skills & Knowledge

Proven experience in turf management and irrigation systems

· Technical skills in pump systems, controllers, valves, and spray patterns

· Strong communication skills and a commitment to good customer service.

The ability to work independently and take initiative on tasks.

A collaborative mindset and a proactive, problem-solving approach.

Experience

Practical experience in irrigation installation, servicing, and troubleshooting.

Experience applying basic traffic management principles on-site.

Qualifications & Licences

Certificate III in Irrigation Technology, IAL Certification (Operator/Installer), or equivalent practical experience.

Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or Irrigation (desirable) , or equivalent practical experience.

Current Driver’s Licence.
