Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join their Infrastructure team in Sydney. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining their enterprise network - mainly across On-premisesenvironments. You will be a key player in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of network services and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and manage Network infrastructure across on-premise data centres and remote offices
• Administer and maintain Firewalls (e.g., 4D Net & F5) and enforce security policies
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and cloud interconnects
• Support and maintain VPN solutions for secure remote access (site-to-site and client-based)
• Ensure secure communication protocols, with strong understanding and management of TLS/SSL certificates
• Manage and maintain VMware virtualised environments related to network configuration and routing
• Monitor and analyse network performance, applying proactive improvements and remediation steps
• Participate in the planning and execution of Network upgrades, migrations, and integrations
• Maintain accurate documentation for network architecture, processes, and configurations
• Work closely with Security, DevOps, and Cloud teams to align network design with broader IT strategy

Key Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in Network Engineering or similar role
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), NAT, VLANs, and subnetting
• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, VPN appliances, and Network security policies
• Experience supporting VMware vSphere environments, especially networking within ESXi hosts
• Proficient in TLS/SSL, including certificate lifecycle management
• Working knowledge of Cloudflare services (DNS, WAF, Zero Trust, CDN)
• Comfortable with CLI-based configuration on switches, routers, and firewall appliances
• Implement and manage Cloudflare for DNS, CDN, DDoS protection, and web application firewall services (Nice to have)
• Exposure to scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus
• GRE (Good to have)
• Juniper (Good to have)
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, VMware VCP, Fortinet NSE) highly regarded
