Boekeman Machinery is now taking applications for the 2026 Apprentice Intake. Seeking the next generation of Heavy Duty Agricultural Service Technicians, positions available across all 5 branches, Northam, Brookton, Dowerin, Dalwallinu and Wongan Hills.

This apprenticeship program will enable you to gain the skills and knowledge needed to work on agricultural machinery and equipment and covers mechanical, electrical and hydraulic operations, precision agriculture and braking systems. You will be working on new and used machinery and will have opportunity for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Training through Case IH.

This 4-year program combines:

On-the-job training alongside experienced mechanics, in both the workshop and in field environments.

Classroom-based learning to develop technical skills, through Central Regional Tafe at Muresk Institute, Northam. Block release for TAFE up to 4 times a year. Accommodation and catering will be provided at Muresk during block releases if required.

Upon completion of your apprenticeship, you'll gain a nationally recognised trade qualification in Cert III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology.

This full-time role is perfect for individuals passionate about working with agricultural machinery and developing their technical skills. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience servicing and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty agricultural equipment.

What you'll be doing

Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on agricultural machinery such as tractors, harvesters, and other farm equipment

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues

Carry out periodic inspections and identify potential problems

Source and install replacement parts as needed

Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used

Participate in on-the-job training to develop technical expertise

Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures

What we're looking for

Passion for working with agricultural machinery and equipment

Interest in advancing farming technologies

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Willingness to learn and a keen interest in developing technical skills

Good communication skills, written & verbal

Good numeracy & literacy skills to complete TAFE studies.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Honest, reliable, hardworking, with a positive “can do” attitude

A valid WA Manual driver's license. (Learners permits will be accepted)

Physical capability to lift up to 20kg and work in various weather conditions
