Our client, a successful private investment company based on Sydney's Northern Beaches, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their small team on a part-time basis (4 days per week).
About The Company
Our client is a well-established private investment group managing a diverse portfolio of property and investment assets across multiple entities. Operating from modern offices on the Northern Beaches, they offer a professional environment with genuine work-life balance. About the Role
Reporting to the company Director, you will assume complete responsibility for the financial management and company secretarial functions across the group's entities. Despite being part-time, this role will be responsible for the strategic, operational and systems efficiency of the finance function. You will be involved with high level decisions and projects, as well as hands-on duties to keep the small but sophisticated team ticking along.
Working Arrangement: 4 days per week (days negotiable), with hybrid flexibility between office and working from home when applicable and once you have settled into the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly management reporting and financial statements preparation
Cash flow management and financial forecasting (1, 3 and 5-year plans)
Tax compliance management including BAS, FBT, and income tax returns
ASIC and ATO regulatory compliance
Multi-currency accounting and reporting (CHF, USD, JPY, EUR)
Financial systems management (Xero/MYOB) and process improvement
Payroll administration and trust accounting
Liaison with external accountants, banks and professional advisors
Company secretarial duties and insurance management
The Ideal Candidate
Our client is seeking a qualified finance professional who recognises that part-time doesn't mean part-commitment. You will be a seasoned, high performer looking for a role with excellent remuneration and flexibility that values your experience and allows you to add value:
Essential Criteria:
CA/CPA qualification (or qualified by experience with demonstrated expertise)
Minimum 5 years' experience in senior finance roles, ideally in high performing, small team environments
Strong technical accounting and financial control capabilities
Advanced Excel skills and experience with cloud accounting platforms (Xero preferred)
Proven ability to manage multiple entities and complex structures
Exceptional time management skills to deliver outstanding results in a 4-day week
Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management
Highly Regarded:
Private investment or private company experience
Property and investment accounting knowledge
Company secretarial experience
Multi-currency accounting exposure
Experience working in part-time or flexible senior roles
