Omnitronics is a world leader in providing advanced communications (Radio Dispatch - Software and Hardware) technology to support vital industries like resources, ports, emergency services, and more.

We’re seeking a Software Engineer with strong C/C++ development skills and experience in Linux or embedded systems, along with solid network programming expertise. This is a 12 month contract position suited to someone who enjoys working close to the hardware and building robust, connected systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing and developing software in C/C++ for Linux and embedded platforms

Implementing and troubleshooting network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, sockets)

Collaborating with a cross-functional engineering team

Using Git for version control and Jira for task tracking

Participating in code reviews, testing, and system-level integration

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience with C/C++ development

Hands-on with Linux systems or embedded platforms

Proficient in network programming and protocol-level debugging

Familiar with Git and Jira

Strong analytical and communication skills

Must have legal rights to work in Australia for the full 12-month contract

Nice to Have

Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS)

Familiarity with telecom protocols, radios, or embedded communication systems

Exposure to automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
