Caravan Repair Technician

Newcastle Caravan Repairs is looking to expand its team and we are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Caravan Repair Technician. If you are a motivated person who takes pride in your work and enjoys meeting deadlines and are keen to work for a locally owned family oriented business then we would love to hear from you.

Experience in the caravan industry or a trade qualification in the mechanical/automotive industry will be highly regarded but is not essential as on the job training will be provided.

This position is for an all-rounder and tasks will include:

• Insurance repairs, including re-sheeting
• Diagnosing problems and carrying out repairs/maintenance work
• Installing parts and accessories (including, but not limited to awnings, diesel heaters, doors, windows, water tanks etc)
• Completing service checklists, testing products and appliances are in working order
• Installation and operation of 12volt systems and products
• Working within OHS guidelines and procedures
• Following company procedures and directions
• Assisting all departments on an ad-hoc basis
• Keeping your work area clean and tidy.

The desirable skills and qualities we are looking for include:

• Proven ability to work with workshop tools and equipment
• Attention to detail
• Mechanically minded
• Knowledge of plumbing systems
• Knowledge of basic carpentry
• Welding experience (desirable but not essential)
• Forklift licence desirable, or willingness to complete
• Able to work to standard repair times and meet deadlines
• General product knowledge and a willingness to learn
• Computer/technical literacy.

This is an excellent opportunity to join Newcastle’s biggest and best caravan repair company. This position is full time, Monday to Friday and remuneration will be reflective on skills and any trade qualifications. Working hours will be 7.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am – 12 noon on Fridays, totalling 38 hours per week.
