THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator/Driver (HC) to manage our Perth depot’s local transport and warehouse operations.

This dual-role position combines operational planning, driver coordination, and hands-on delivery driving. You will play a key role in ensuring timely deliveries and pickups, safe warehouse operations, and compliance with logistics and transport standards.

You will also be expected to provide back-up driving support in case of urgent deliveries or absences — particularly involving articulated vehicles and trailer management.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Operational & Coordination Duties

Plan and coordinate daily delivery and pickup schedules, ensuring optimal route planning.

Manage loading, unloading, and reloading of vehicles and docks.

Monitor and manage warehouse operations, ensuring proper staging and dispatch of freight.

Ensure all transport documentation and paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Liaise with customers and internal teams to resolve service issues proactively.

Support continuous improvement efforts around efficiency, cost management, and safety.

Driver & Compliance Management

Ensure all fleet movements comply with fatigue management, CoR, OHS, and vehicle safety regulations.

Lead by example in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient depot practices.

Investigate and action any Non-Conformances (NCRs) or incidents as required.

Communicate effectively with drivers to ensure high service standards and legal compliance.

Provide ad-hoc driving support for urgent or uncovered loads (including putting trailers on docks).

About You

Current HC or MC Licence with proven confidence handling trailers and docking procedures.

3–5 years' experience in a warehouse, transport, or depot coordination role.

Strong understanding of transport laws, fatigue legislation, and safety compliance.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Experience using manual and digital systems for planning and documentation.

Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to work early mornings and flexible hours as required.

Strong customer service mindset and a team-player attitude.

Desirable Attributes

Experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity within transport/logistics.

Familiarity with cold chain transport or refrigerated warehousing.

Ability to train or mentor others in safe and compliant warehouse and driving practices.
