Substation Civil Design

Are you eager to gain hands-on experience and shape the future of energy infrastructure? Join the Substation Design Team as an intern, where you’ll delve into the world of civil and structural engineering for cutting-edge transmission networks.

As an intern, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the design and delivery of substation projects—both regulated and non-regulated—across the Powerlink transmission network. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to real-world projects involving substation civil and structural design, and provide valuable input for connection enquiries and emergency plant replacements.

This placement also offers a dynamic environment for learning about innovative design practices and emerging technologies in the field. You’ll engage with both internal teams and external design providers, gaining broad exposure to the industry and building a solid foundation for your future career.

Open to undergraduate students studying Bachelor of Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Structural Engineering

CopperString Project Construction

Are you eager to launch your engineering journey in the booming energy sector? The CopperString Project Construction team invites you to join them for an immersive, hands-on internship experience in this once-in-a-generation project. In this role, you’ll play an integral part in the delivery of high-voltage transmission lines and substations for this massive infrastructure project in North Queensland.

Working side-by-side with skilled engineers and project managers, you’ll dive into research, craft technical documents, analyse data, and use cutting-edge software to model electrical systems. Beyond technical know-how, you’ll gain first-hand insight into a real engineering mega project and build your project management abilities. If you have a passion for innovation, a curiosity for learning, and a desire to shape the future of energy, this internship will set you on the path to success.

This year, our Summer Vacation Program will commence on Monday 17th of November, 2025 and run until Friday 13th of February, 2026. Please note, there may be a Christmas Closure period over the December period that you will be required to take paid/unpaid leave for.
