Electrical Engineer – Leading Food Manufacturer (FMCG)

Due to continued growth and increased product demand locally and internationally, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical Engineer to step into a strategic role within this high-performing organisation.

The Role
Reporting to the Engineering & Reliability Manager, you’ll be a key player within a dynamic maintenance team, supporting a fast-paced production plant that operates 24/5–6 days per week. Your primary focus will be to drive plant reliability, minimise downtime, and ensure production targets are consistently achieved. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical trades, shaping and improving maintenance and reliability strategies across the board.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and optimise plant maintenance strategies, ensuring performance KPIs (OEE, uptime, reliability, OH&S) are met.

Train and develop the maintenance team in effective fault-finding, RCA, Fishbone Diagrams, and other problem-solving tools.

Promote cross-functional collaboration between Maintenance and Production, including upskilling operators in minor maintenance tasks.

Conduct in-depth equipment analysis to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.

Support a shift-wide culture of continuous improvement and collaborative problem-solving.

Mentor and guide team members to improve performance and technical skills.

Your Background:

We are looking for a proactive and technically strong individual who brings:

A degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering (or a relevant trade qualification).

Proven experience in FMCG or food/beverage manufacturing environments.

Demonstrated success in implementing preventative and reliability-based maintenance strategies.

Qualifications or training in RCA, 5S, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.

Strong communication skills and a practical, hands-on approach to leadership and problem-solving.
