Our busy and iconic 24/7 “Bakery On O'Connell” in North Adelaide is seeking an experienced and creative Cake Decorator and maker/pastry chef to join our vibrant team of motivated bakers.
This position is 24 to 38 hours per week, starting at 6am each morning and must be available weekends with the expectation to work either a Saturday or Sunday morning.
Responsibilities
- Bake a variety of cakes, cupcakes and other deserts from scratch using quality ingredients.
- Expertly decorate cakes and donuts with different icings including buttercream icings, fondants and fresh cream with intricate piping details.
- Ensure consistency in appearance, taste and quality of baked goods.
- Follow recipes and maintain excellent food safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a baker and cake decorator is essential
- Artistic skills and a eye for design to create visually stunning donuts and cakes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team and a fast paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and taking pride in one's work.
- Passion for baking and willingness to continue learning new techniques.
