Junior – Mid Level Corporate – Native Title – Commercial Lawyer / Paralegal

Cross Country NTS is seeking to appoint a Junior – Mid Level Lawyer to join our Perth CBD based organisation for an immediate start.

Cross Country NTS provides a range of services to Aboriginal organisations and clients (prescribed bodies corporate, claim groups etc). You will have the ability to learn from experienced senior lawyers and will work closely with clients on significant advisory and litigious native title matters including:

- Supporting Federal Court and National Native Title Tribunal proceedings;

- Negotiating and drafting indigenous land use agreements and cultural heritage agreements;

- Providing corporations law advice to prescribed body corporates;

- Providing commercial law advice regarding mining, energy and agricultural projects.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:

- Hold or be eligible to hold a practising certificate in Western Australia;

- A minimum of 1 year post-admission experience;

- Have a sound understanding of native title and cultural law or be willing to acquire it;

- Excellent written and oral communication skills;

- Enjoys both advisory and litigation work;

- Is willing to travel for meetings or court appearances when needed;

- Demonstrated project management skills; and

- Ability to effectively work both autonomously and in a team environment.
